Fourth of July and Fireworks

As the Seasons change in Southern California those special holidays that mark the calendar become a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate.
One of those Holidays which occurs in early Summer is our National Independence Day, the Fourth of July. Frequently, people enjoy this special occasion by having BBQ’s, viewing sponsored fireworks shows, and sometimes, participating by lighting off fireworks they have purchased for the occasion.
In some areas of our Country, fireworks are approved for sale by Local and State Agencies who control their use. For instance, in Southern California, many locations allow the sale and use of fireworks. However, other areas in Southern California strictly prohibit the use of fireworks due to local high-fire-danger. Too often, the purchase of fireworks from approved, and illegal sources presents a problem for Law Enforcement and Fire Departments. The most common concerns result from fireworks that are used in High-Fire-Risk designated areas and the use of illegal fireworks which are much more likely to start fires. Misused and illegal fireworks cause significant damage to property and injury to people annually.
Every year SERVPRO of Glendora/San Dimas and Irwindale/Baldwin Park gets called to support recovery of fire damaged property. Occasionally, those fires are a result of fireworks that were not approved and were being used in an unsafe manner. The problem is not unique to Southern California, but with the very high density of people living in the Los Angeles Basin, the patchwork of communities in LA that approve or prohibit the use of fireworks, and the ready access to very high volumes of unapproved fireworks every year, the probability of property damage and personal injury is high.
SERVPRO of Glendora/San Dimas & Irwindale/Baldwin Park will always be available to support those residences and businesses that may be affected by fires caused by misuse of fireworks, or from any other cause.
Also, SERVPRO of Glendora/San Dimas & Irwindale/Baldwin Park is a Large Loss Response Team (LLRT) Franchise which means when it comes to Fire Restoration there is no job too big or too small for our expert services.
