Custom Home Fire Sprinkler Failure

SERVPRO of Glendora/San Dimas received a call from a Large Loss Adjuster at Chartis Insurance. A Fire sprinkler failed in a 15,000 sq.ft. home in La Habra heights, CA. Crews were dispatched.
Fire Sprinklers are standard in commercial buildings as part of current Fire Code requirements. They are not as common in residential buildings, but are becoming more common as Fire Codes evolve in California to include residential structures.
Upon arrival, crews found that 10,000 sq.ft. of the home was affected by water damage. Standing water was extracted and drying equipment was set. Joe McCann arrived on site the following morning. He met with Mr. Patel and the Large Loss Adjuster to discuss the scope of work. The scope was agreed to and approved. Mr. Patel mentioned he had a prior engagement and that the work must be completed in 3 day`s time. The adjuster authorized SERVPRO to bring in any resources necessary to have the job completed in 3 days.
Swing shifts were set up with crews of 30 working day and night. The TES equipment (TES is a unique water damage restoration system that utilizes Directed Heat Drying™ and the "Reets Evaporation Method" combining controlled heat and air flow to produce high-speed evaporation, dramatically improving the drying process for the fastest drying possible) SERVPRO uses is a trailer-mounted unit set up to optimize the commercial dehumidifiers and air movers to speed up the dry times.
The job was completed within the required time frame and the property owner and Insurance Adjuster were very pleased to have SERVPRO of Glendora/San Dimas & Irwindale/Baldwin Park on the project.
